Credits

I have to give credit where credit is due. The new re-design (Jan 2012) of this blog would’ve never happened if I had never started reading www.puglypixel.com last spring. I was turned on to it via www.makingitlovely.com in one of Nicole’s Honor Roll posts.

Katrina (of pugly pixel) has inspired my inner nerdiness to blossom. I’ve always considered myself a person that is way more into web coding then your average guy or gal. I have an outdated collection of Dreamweaver, HTML and Coldfusion books on my shelf. I’ve had some sort of website ever since I met the internet, a long, long time ago. I’ve designed a handful of band websites, and I even started my own web design business for a short stint from 2005-2006 which specialized in small business web design. Learning little skills here and there, I’ve continued to maintain my html and css knowledge over the years.

Reading Pugly Pixel pushed me to go out of my comfort zone and helped me learn even more new nerdy things, which in turn gave me the confidence to move to wordpress from blogger. Not only that Katrina loves all things photoshop too and offers a ton of free tutorials, photo layouts, and clip art. I love to follow along with her just to stay sharp on my photoshop skillz. If you’re interested in any of this you should really stop by her site sometime and poke around, remember to buy her a cup of coffee if you end up learning something cool from her. Anyways, you can’t go wrong over there.

I have to mention that the layout of my site was inspired by Katrina’s, but it should be noted I wrote all the CSS code from the ground up.

I used the Thesis theme for wordpress and only had a to modify elements using a few short snippets of PHP (thank god cause it was a little mind melting for me.)

All of the tape strips seen on the sidebar are also from Katrina, you can get your own tape strips over here.

All design elements including logo, background and sidebar elements were all created by me in photoshop.

I made the staples using Katrina’s Staple Tutorial, you can find it here.

Any questions? Drop me a line.
