I had the same problem with my BG. I ended up changing the inserts to hemp ones (JoeyBunz) and they have worked great! SO much more absorbant and actually quite a bit less bulky.

I second trying to strip them as well (I use the blue Dawn method).

Have you tried soaking your diapers in Rockin Green? If there is any detergent build up on them, then they will either smell funny or leak. Just a thought. Good luck!

Hey Anne!

I am glad I am not the only one with leaky kid diapers. I think I'll do exactly what you did when I try again in a month or so. Disposable's at night and nap time and BG's during the day.

I hope someone posts with the most awesome solution, that would be great!

Thanks for your input!

We have one of those Umbra hampers for our kids' room and it is awesome! I don't know why I don't have one for our room, too, as it's totally the best hamper ever.

And while I have no advice for you about your BG problem, I can relate. Both my kids were crazy wetters when they slept and no cloth diaper could contain the mess, no matter what I tried. Moved to disposables for naps and nighttime and that solved it (actually, I had to double-bag my youngest kid for a long time because not even one of those huge nighttime disposables could handle his pee). So yeah, no solutions for you, but I'll be checking back to see if anyone else chimes in with advice!

You can't beat the price on that hamper, and it hold a ton. I hauled the entire families laundry in it the other day.

Hope you guys are all doing well. Emitt looks like the funnest kid in town, I hope we get to meet him someday.

In reply to <a href="https://www.deucecitieshenhouse.com/2012/05/nursery-1-year-deep.html#comment-762">jessica</a>.

Jessica - I don't think it essential. Think about all these old houses. So many of them only have 2 or 3 bedrooms and people used to cram them full of kids. Although I have no personal experience in raising kids in the same bedroom, I'm sure it's totally possible. Me and my brother grew up in the same room until I was 6.

Finn has already been talking about sharing a room with his brother. I think when Gus is a little bigger they might do that for a little while, until they get to that pesky age where they need their own space again.

I love the nursery, and I'm glad Gus loves his blocks! I gotta get the hamper for our room, it's so much better than the mesh one we have now that showcases every dirty piece of laundry Emitt goes through.

Is it essential for the kids to have a separate room? I have a four year old and am planning on having another by the time he is five. Would it be too insane to have them in the same room together? I can't quite wrap my head around this...also, the nursery still looks amazing!
