Thanks for saying they look pretty! It is one of those things that I happened on because I found one cool plate, then my Grandma gave me a platter, and one thing lead to another. I am antsy about seeing the state plates. As I recall, most of them are probably not super high-quality souvenirs, but even if one or two are neat, I’ll be happy. Pinterest has re-invigorated my plate-hanging obsession. So many ideas…

Awh, your plate collection is beautiful! I’m excited to see more. It sounds like you could have a huge score with those slate plates, you’ll have to go check on ’em soon. I love plates on walls, it’s such a good way to add personality and artwork to a wall, and for a very minimal investment. I picked up my plate hangers for 89 cents at the hardware store, it doesn’t get much better.

You have no idea how much this is up my alley. I have displayed plates on my walls as far back as my first college apartment in 1999. I mostly collect red and white transferware-style plates (both tourist style and just designs) and I have become very picky about what I buy and display since I’ve been collecting so long. I also have a box full of state plates that is currently being stored at my parents house that I bought at a junk shop in Northern, MN. The next time I go visit my folks, I’m going to pull it out. Hopefully it is a goldmine that I should be displaying or selling on etsy. And yes, my plate collection one of the thousand things I’ve been meaning to blog about for ages, as soon as I have time.
