that birch tree paper has made me happy for years. i desperately want to use it in my daughter’s room, just haven’t made the move … big decisions re: how/where to use the paper haven’t been made yet. but if you don’t use it, i will. and you can come visit it.

Hey! Haven’t been here in a while and I’m super stoked that you’re tackling the master! To be honest I’m super into florals right now so I’m biased. I’ve always loved the Woods paper for long stretches of wall…like a hallway or an entrance not so much for cozy spaces like bedrooms. Also, the Rifle and Co. paper would brighten up that corner like the sun! Go for it!

Ok from a feng shui point of view (I’m no expert) but comparing the two: on the left is dry-looking, old-looking trees with bare branches. On the right is ripeness, flowering and budding. Aesthetically they are both fine designs but the one on the right might be better symbolism for a master bedroom. Hope that doesn’t sound too wacky ; ) I do not own a windchime, I swear.

You Guys! I am just going to respond to all of you because I still have no idea what I am going to do. I think that I will just really need to consider it over that weekend. You all have really great points about each – Thank you for your help!! To anyone else who has any input, feel free to add something below, I really am reading everyones comments and considering all options. Thank you!

Also, I totally know it’s kind of lame that I am having such a hard time deciding over wallpaper, I mean it’s just wallpaper, but the thing is it’s just WALLPAPER! I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t struggle with design decisions. Join in on the indecision with me!

The heart wants what the heart wants, go for the rifle! It’s awesome and fabulous and in the end, wallpaper isn’t forever, definitely more of a bitch than just repainting but I think it would take quite some time to fall out of love with that!!!!

My feeling is that the tree pattern is an established classic at this point. Are they being used a lot? Yes… but deservedly so! They look good in e.v.e.r.y picture I see them in, and would go great in a room with an attached sunroom. I love the other too, but (for me) it’s a little busy for a bedroom. (I always think of that story “The Yellow Wallpaper” with bold florals in a bedroom, haha).
On the upside, they are both super nice, so you can’t really go wrong.

Definitely the wood grain. The floral is very inviting but I really do think you would get tired of it quickly. Also, the wood grain is a neutral and you could change up your accessory colors easily. Good luck on your decision, whichever way you go.

I love the Rifle paper and I think it would look gorgeous with what you’ve done in the sunroom. I like the Woods paper, but agree with Jessica that it seems a bit overdone. I’ve actually been looking at it myself for an accent wall in the living room, but feel like I’ve seen it in so many blogs that I worry it’s becoming a cliche. I do like it though. Mary, you may have solved my problem with that CB2 paper!

I commented on the last post, so I shouldn’t get a say on this one… but I love the copper flowers. That being said, there’s cool black and white papers out there, the trees being one of them. CB2 has a twig/tree paper in a metallic that could be the best of both worlds:

Well, you gotta do you, but I’ll just say for me the Woods paper seems a bit cold and is a trend that has been way over done at this point. The copper in the Peonies paper is such a warm bit of shine that I think would be beautiful in the winter. I also think the colours in the paper go really well with what you’ve done out there in the sunroom. It has it’s own classic vibe that works well with your house. Good luck!

i like the rifle paper as well but i think you should heed the advice of friends and family and go for the woods paper, which is awesome. then, if it’s possible to buy a single roll you should find a nook in your house where you can install the rifle paper, maybe inside a closet or cabinet? a single wall in a smaller room or hallway? that way you can look at it every day and not have to worry about having made a big mistake in your bedroom.

I love the rifle paper one – I was looking at the same one in the green color way… but in the end, i decided it would just be too much and i would probably get tired of it. I went black and white too, the Kalahari wallpaper from anthropologie:

Ah! That Rifle wallpaper! I considered the exact same print for a wall in my dining room. I love the bronze! Ultimately we decided to go with something more tame that would allow us to also hang a piece of art, but every time I see it on a blog (like this one) I want it all over again.

I can personally vouch that the Woods one doesn’t have to lean kitschy–my in-laws have it in their most sacred guest room (they actually non-jokingly call it “the Princess Room”). The entire room is teal velvet, mirrored furniture, and that wallpaper. The wallpaper doesn’t hit you as a statement, just gives the whole room a subtle fairytale vibe. Plus, if you ever want a new color scheme, you don’t have to remove wallpaper, you just have to buy new pillows. The other one is dreamy too, though…
