Hey Melanie! So glad you got to Tonkadale, it's the best! I'm headed there with my mom on Friday and I can't wait! Ah, yes annuals. I have only planted a couple myself because we were having friends over and I wanted the backyard to look pretty, I admit I did jump the gun a little bit. Rule of thumb is you are good-to-go by May 15th in our neck of the woods. That being said, if on May 5th the 10 day forecast is looking springy and warm, I would totally go for it. If you think about it, the second worse case scenario is that you have to cover your annuals with sheets if the temp dips down real low. I've had to do this and haven't ever lost an annual. Of course there is always the worst case scenario...

Anyways, I'm planting on a buttload of annuals on Saturday so you should follow my lead and feel free to go for it!

Yay for your garden! It's such a great feeling to see the seasons of planning and work pay off :)

Love it! Took your advice from the other day (on the foundation garden) about Tonkadale Greenhouse and went last night. Oh my heavens their selection is to die for! I went a little nuts buying all the things, but it's great. My MIL (a garden expert) gave the go ahead to plant the perennials but said to hold off on all my annuals. SO hard. When do you put your annuals in? My MIL said this weekend would be fine IF the 10 day forecast was warm....just wanted to hear your thoughts. Thanks for the inspiration. I dont comment often but I've been closely following your garden for years (since we're in the same area) and trying to mimic lots of what you do. It's finallly coming together!
