This looks great! We just installed low voltage under cabinet lights in our kitchen, which I'm loving. I wasn't aware they had exterior options. Love it!
How deep did you have to bury the cable and how has everything held up through winters? Is the transformer in a place that is protected from the weather?

i can't answer yes to all of the questions but as always, am totally fascinated with this post.

on a side note, i think it was like two years ago you had posted about taking off your storm windows & giving everything a good cleaning. i remember commenting about how you had inspired me to get my butt in gear... but i still didn't do it. well. i finally started this weekend & now i'm just mad it took me so long. it's so rewarding & i laughed at myself thinking about your blog & how long i'd been swearing i'd do this. unfortunately, it's taking me longer than it should because not only did our old p.o.s. contractor caulk & paint them to the frame, the previous owners also GLUED THEM TO THE FRAME. i find that cursing everyone who has ever lived here helps to muscle them off. i've got 4 of 13 down so far. i can't wait to get them all down, cleaned, & then the windows repaired, reglazed, & repainted. i'm also questioning whether or not i'll ever put them back up... here in oklahoma we don't deal with long harsh winters like you do so i'm not sure if they're REALLY necessary. we might get a couple of days at a time with snowstorms but that only happens 3 or 4 times a winter.
