Nicole and I just finished printing another wedding suite last weekend. This wedding stationery was made for Jess & Nils who are getting married this fall in Saint Paul, MN at the Germanic American Institute. Jess was looking for an invitation to reflect her and Nil’s love of reading and asked us to come up with something that was “nerdy, creative, and fun.” Nicole and I tried a few different designs but landed on this book plate inspired invitation. The wise old owl in the corner adds some whimsy and navy blue lends itself to a classic “bookish” look. Each invitation was hand screen printed on a luxe cream colored paper with grey, navy, and black ink and includes invitation, RSVP card, and printed RSVP response envelope. As always, drop us an email if you’re interested in chatting with us about your upcoming nuptials, we’d love to hear from you! Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

We’re happy to share with your our first wedding invitation suite! We can’t tell you how stoked we were to be apart of Breanna & Jeff’s future nuptials. These two are having a destination wedding on Coronado Beach in San Deigo and they requested that the destination be part of their wedding invitations. It was a lot of fun brainstorming all sorts of travel themed invitations with Nicole, we had all sorts of ideas; from maps, to vintage postcards, to travel ticket stubs, but in the end we landed on this image of San Diego. The grey landscape features silhouettes of sailboats in the foreground and the Carmel mountain range in the background with the cityscape smack dab in the middle. We followed Breanna’s color theme and printed the invitations in red and pewter grey ink. The end look is both modern with a vintage twist. For this wedding suite we printed Invitations with RSVP postcard. A set of “Thank You” cards is in the works, and will be soon to follow. If you or someone you know is interested in getting super cool, screenprinted, handmade wedding invitations don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d love to hear from you! Share this...
Yes We’re so excited! Nicole (Colz) and I finished our first STD’s (Save the Date’s) last night at 1am after a five hour marathon of printing. Oh god my shoulders hurt, but it’s all worth it because making stuff is so fun and awesome! We hand gocco’d (screenprinted) 150 save the dates and envelopes featuring a marina full of sailboats. We are so proud of our little guys, that I don’t think we’ll ever forget our first STD. If I were to get married tomorrow I think I would pick this same color palette. Lemon yellow, turquoise and grey are pretty much the best color combo. I’ve been using these colors all over my house for months, they are my go-to-guys. Check out my kitchen as proof. So I can easily imagine turquoise b-maid dresses paired with a bouquet of yellow flowers. As a special treat, and since we couldn’t resist, we added boats and waves to the front of the envelopes as well. It’s basically the icing on the cake (no pun intended) and makes the whole thing look really special, or at least that’s what we thought after a few beers. And just cause we love these things so dang much here’s one last photo for good measure. Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

We’re so excited, we finally get to start working on the stationery for our first wedding! Here is one of the final ideas for Allison & Jamie’s save the dates (or as we like to say STD’s, oh man does that joke goes a long way.) Allison and Jamie are getting married next summer in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We experimented with a few different themes when it came to these STD’s and the bride and groom decided on this simple and elegant card with yellow boats. We’d love to take credit for choosing the colors but this was all Allison & Jamie. We are so amped about these STD’s that we can barely wait to start printing them. Our screens and ink should be arriving in the mail any day now and then we are going to go to town on these babies! Please don’t hesitate if you, or someone you know would be interested in talking to us about their wedding plans. Email us HERE! We love doing this and get a total kick our of it. www.thehenhousepress.com Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

Jeff and I went to our friends, Mark & Arielle’s wedding this weekend. I’ve been to a lot of weddings in my day, but this wedding took the cake (ha) for best hand made decorations. So like all good craft bloggers I decided I should take some photos and share it around the interweb. Paper flower bouquet’s are totally awesome. I need to find the pattern for these somewhere, I don’t know why, I just need to. I stole this photo from the bride and grooms wedding website, I wanted to show you how totally awesome these flowers were. In all the trees hung these pretty paper bag flowers. Gocco screen printed invitations. In my next life I will own one of these machines. Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

So Rip and I got hitched this past February in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We were lucky enough to have a few members of our Family and some of our oldest and dearest Friends join us.The Wedding was planned in about a month and there wasn’t a whole lot of time to get formal invitations sent out. We sent emails and made phone calls giving everyone the heads up about the Big Day. Once I had a head count of who would be able to make it, I whipped up some ‘invitations’ that would state the where’s and when’s of the ceremony itself. The front desk staff at our resort were kind enough to hand them out to our guests as they checked in. This also saved me the hassle filling everyone in as I saw them. The ceremony was on the beach at 2:00 in the afternoon. To help my guests fight off the heat I had picked up some folding fans so they could keep a little bit cool. I designed these tags to hang on the tassels that were on the fans. I would have loved to shown a photo of the tags on an actual fan but Royal, my well behaved dog, ate the only one I had left. What an Ass Hole. After we got home and we were able to let the dust settle a little and our Folks got us some names and addresses, I was able to send out wedding announcements. There were a few people that I also wanted to thank for checks, gifts and wedding showers so I killed two birds with one stone and used these as ‘Thank You” cards as well.Wedded!
