Even though I haven’t posted about it in awhile, I still love perusing Etsy. I’ll admit, it’s gotten a little bloated with so-so stuff lately, but you can still find a lot of people making really cool things out there. Recently we found ourselves upgrading to some new iPhone 5s. Part of the reason we needed to get new phones is that one of us (not naming names here) is prone to busting phone screens and not using cases. Others of us were just ready for a new phone. So there you have it. We need cases, especially with the kids. These phones get dropped all the time, and even though most of the time they don’t show a scratch, there are occasions when screens get scratched or yes, even cracked. Cases are a must! Lucky for us (and you) there are a bunch of people making really cool iPhone cases on Etsy!! Yeah! If I have to have a case on my new pretty phone, I don’t want it to be ugly or clunky, you with me here? I want it to have triangles on it, duh. Here are a few of my favs but there’s tons of options out there to explore. I even spotted a few cool Bruce Springsteen cases for the true heads :) Share this... Happy Friday! I did some Etsy Shopping for you and came out with this load of beautiful boucherouite rugs all very similar to the one I bought a few weeks ago. The price is a little steep I know, but look how pretty. I was able to find my rug for more than half off what these beauties are going for so keep your eyes peeled if you’re on the look out. They are so eye catching, I don’t tire of perusing Etsy for them. In other news, “Stop Snowing, Snow!” Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

I’m on the hunt for a few simple brass accessories for the bathroom makeover to compliment these knobs which were the inspiration for the room. Of course the Etsy vintage section was my first place to look. It didn’t take long to come up with some great brassy options, it was actually hard to narrow it down for this post. Adding brass and golden accents to a room like this is a good way to bring a touch of bling with out going nuts. Just the way I like it. One of the items I included was a magazine rack. How do you feel about magazines in the bathroom? At our old, old place we had a magazine rack in the bathroom and it was well used, I’m considering bringing this back but and worried I might lose my husband forever. 1. Vintage Polyhedron Multi-Sided Brass and Glass Terrarium from Pumpkin Seed Jewelry – $24.00 + $8.00(for shipping) 2. Brassy Letter A from Hampton House Vintage – $27.00 + $8.90 (for shipping) 3. Retro Brass Magazine Rack from Mother’s Memories – $8.50 + $13.50 (for shipping) 4. Solid Brass Vases from Side Street Gallery – $40.00 + $10.00 (for shipping) Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

Well this Etsy Finds post is inspired by my black thumb. I just killed every succulent I own, and if you know anything about succulents they’re supposed to be fool proof. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I had moved mine all outside to get some extra sun and within 3 days they were all goners. Time to start over (insert major league sad face here). So I started by looking around on Etsy for some succulent inspiration. Not only can you buy pre-made succulent arrangements or kits but you can also order succulent cuttings in an assortment of different quantities and varieties of succulent plants. So tell me, what am I doing wrong? Do succulents hate being moved outside or what? I love succulents and I want to have them in my home. I need help! 1. Another World Jurassic Woodland Centerpiece from Another World Plants – $85.00 + $35.95 (for shipping) 2. 11″ Succulent Wreath from Succulents Plus – $69.00 + $25.00 (for shipping) 3. Succulent Vertical Living Wall Art Kit, 12 inch from So Succulent – $65.00 + $14.50 (for shipping) 4. Succulent Centerpiece in a Rustic Cedar Box from Rooted in Succulents – $40.00 + $18.00 (for shipping) Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

Okay, I may be jumping the gun a little bit but one of my favorite things about summer is cabin tymez in Minnesota. They are the best! I am a sucker for a kitschy cabin decor, like I might consider decorating my entire house in it someday. Every summer we are lucky enough to be invited to our friend Matt’s family cabin in Cross Lake Minnesota. It is one of my favoritest places in the whole world. I’m already getting so excited to go this summer. We talk about it all the time. Anyway, I was looking around on Etsy yesterday and came across this cribbage board, and that got me thinking cabin. So whether you need it or not, here’s your dose of cabin decor. Search Cabin Decor on Etsy, you won’t be able to stop, there is so much good stuff! 1. Vintage Days of the Week Tea Towel from Estate Hound – $50.00 + $9.50 (for shipping) 2.
I don’t know about you, but I am an earrings girl through and through. I don’t wear any other jewelry besides my weddin’ ring. When I find a good pair of earrings I stick with ’em, and I wear them daily for months, morning noon and night. Recently I lost three single earrings in the span of a week (insert major bummer emoticon here). I have been on the hunt for THEE pair and am have a hard time finding them. I’m a total sucker for geometric shapes and patterns and have had a hankering for some simple brass earrings for a while. I thought I’d wrap it all together and put it an Etsy Finds post for you (and me). I recently purchased the simple studs pictured in the upper left hand corner. They are great looking, but a little heavy and I’m still not sure they are the ones. Why does finding the perfect pair of earrings have to be so hard? What do you think of my finds? Do you have a favorite Etsy shop for everyday jewelry? Please share if ya do! 1. Brass Circle with Turquoise Green from Vivid by Esther – $19.00 + $2.95 (for shipping) 2. Angeliki Triangle Earrings from Geodora Designs – $22.00 + $4.50 (for shipping) 3. Geometric Earrings Spring Jewlery from Curious Creatures – $25.00 + $4.50 (for shipping) P.S. Lots of other great planter’s here to fit any budget. 4. Simple Geometric Triangle Posts from Little Sixty Jewlery – $9.00 + FREE! (for shipping) Share this...
Happy almost memorial day weekend to ya! I have been anticipating this weekend for months. Our good friends, Joel and Katrina, are coming up from Chicago and we’re gonna hang like nobody’s business ALL weekend long.
Hey-O Everybody! I’m changing Etsy Finds up a little this week. First of all, I’m stepping out side of my normal vintage zone and making this ‘finds’ open to the whole world of Etsy. Secondly, you should note that each item isn’t less than $75, the whole GD shower is, (well the decorations anyways) the rest is up to you :) Unless you’ve been living under a rock or you don’t read my blog, either could be possible, you should know that I’m throwing a raging shower for Cam (aka Brittany Mader, aka Killa Cam) next Saturday. I’ve been cumulating a nice little pile of decorations from Etsy and I though I’d share with you a version of what I’ve got going on. This will be the sister post to another post I’ve got planned for next week where I break down the whole kit and caboodle. Anyways lets get down to business. 1. Handmade Bunting Made From Vintage Sheets from Little Tea Wagon – $22.50 + $5.00 (for shipping) 2.

Happy Etsy Finds Friday! I know it’s been awhile since our last Etsy Finds (almost a whole month) but that’s cause I was so busy doing so much stuff around the house. Anyway, inspired by all my recent projects and the total appreciation for searching the word “Hardware” in the Etsy vintage section, I am doing a post on some really great victorian era door and window hardware! Searching for ‘hardware‘ on Etsy is almost as great as being in a real live vintage hardware store. I am kind of obsessed about it. If you haven’t checked it out yet you should. So, here are a few great door knobs, knob plates, and a sash lock that I think are pretty awesome. If you’re lacking that vintage touch in your house OR if someone “updated” your old house and you’re trying to bring it back to the way it was, you need to check my finds. 1. Antique Door Knobs and Backplates from River House Designs – $78.00 + $8.50 (for shipping) 2. 19th Century Sash Lock from The Blind Peacock – $10.50 + $2.25 (for shipping) 3. Vintage Brass Door Knobs with Hardware from Splendid Junk – $28.00 + $11.35 (for shipping) 4. Antique White Marble Doorknobs from Once Upon A Time – $35.00 + $6.00 (for shipping) Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

I know this is a total non spring-time post, but I couldn’t help it. Remember my post from two days ago about finishing off the bedroom?? Well that got me thinking… Maybe I need a new afghan for the arm chair in our master bedroom. I’ve got two other crocheted items up in there and I figured, what the hell, maybe another? I have one A-M-A-Z-I-N-G crocheted hexagon granny afghan that I have in the porch off the bedroom, you can check it here, AND my handmade Bruce Springsteen, Darkness on the Edge of Town crocheted pillow, check it here. I’ve been trying to get some color into the other side of the bedroom, when I thought, ‘Hey, what about an amazing, vintage, affordable, colorful crocheted afghan in all its yarny glory?’ So that’s when I headed over to Etsy and found this winner right here. Can’t wait till it shows up!! I thought you should probably get one too though, so I put together a list of possible contenders. 1. Vintage Crocheted Throw Afghan from Rubisco – $35.00 + $15.00 (for shipping) 2. Vintage Colorful Bright Afghan Blanket from srowe5 – $25.00 + $8.50 (for shipping) 3. Vintage Afghan in a Rainbow of Colors from By The Way Side – $40.00 + $8.49 (for shipping) 4. Vintage Colorful Handmade Stripe Afghan from Ani & Rose – $32.00 + $15.70 (for shipping) Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

As I was trolling the shopping waters of the internet the other day I spotted this Modernica planter on sale over at fab.com. The only problem is that it’s $119 (for the small size) on sale (normally $149). I don’t know why I even consider these sorts of things. Yes, it was really nice and pretty and would look so great in my house, but seriously $119 for a ceramic pot? Although I think it’s wonderful, I’m afraid I can’t afford to spend money on something like that unless I am over the god damn moon in love with it. So, that got me thinking… I should do a post on some much more affordable – yet still pretty great and awesome — modern vintage planters for the next Etsy Finds post. Here are a few of my favs: 1. Mid Century Mini Blue Planter from Oak Street Vintage – $28.00 + $10.40 (for shipping) 2. Mid Century Modern Orb Shaped Planter from Swanky Lady Vintage – $12.95 + $7.95 (for shipping) 3. Vintage Ivory & Yellow California Originals Planter from Up Home – $13.00 + $8.95 (for shipping) 4. Dansk Bowl/Planter in Orange from Those Vintage Dreams – $35.00 + $10.00 (for shipping) Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

Anybody else sensing a theme here? Pink is showing up all over my recent posts. I’ve resisted pink all my life – so what gives? I’m kinda loving it and it’s weirding me out. Maybe there’s a secret tractor beam that nobody told me about. I can’t understand any other reasonable explanation that would justify me liking the color pink. Anyway, a few weeks ago I purchased a radio on etsy. I’ve had my eyes peeled for months, maybe even a year, when I found this turquoise gem with golden accents. Total love fest going on up in here. For your sake, I thought I’d do some pretend shopping and come up with my favorite vintage radio etsy finds for today so you can have a radio love party in your house too. You can thank me later. 1. 1980’s Rise n’ Shine AM/FM Clock Radio from Thrice Nice – $30.00 + $9.00 (for shipping) 2. 1950’s National 7 Transitor Radio in Pink from Yesterday and 2day – $29.00 + $6.00 (for shipping) 3. Mint Green AM/FM Electric Radio from New Life Vintage RV’s – $50.00 + $12.00 (for shipping) 4. Vintage General Electric Tube Clock Radio from Carmen and Ginger – $27.00 + $12.00 (for shipping) Share this... Facebook Pinterest Twitter

I’ve been in the market for a good lamp for the music room, in fact, I need new lamps for a lot of rooms. Since we moved in (and even before) we’ve made a habit of buying the $9.99 Ikea lamps with paper shades when we need a little light, seriously, I think we have 4 of them. For the time being they work as good place holders, but those paper shades won’t last forever. Anyways, I am always searching through etsy for cool lamps. Here’s the coolest of the cool currently available on etsy today, and all for under $100. I wonder if any of them will end up being mine?? 1. The Atomic Bowling Pin Lamp! $27.00 + $30.00 (for shipping) 2. Danish Diamond Lamp $58.00 + $22.00 (for shipping) – Don’t you love that diamond pattern? 3. 1960’s Teak Lamp $39.00 + $19.00 (for shipping) 4. White Textured Lamp $89.50 + $18.00 (for shipping) – Okay, so technically with shipping it’s over $100 but barley, and it’s pretty darn beautiful. Share this...
