Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this blog. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of occasions it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between consumer friendliness and visual look. I should state that you have done a amazing occupation with this. Additionally, the weblog loads super quick for me on Safari. Excellent Blog!

If I had that giant planter, I'd most definitely mosaic-it. Here in Philly we have a local artist, Isaiah Zagar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaiah_Zagar) who is famous for his mosaics. I took a class with him years ago and learned his technique, and I have been making similar mosaics all around. I have a mosaic'd garden globe stand in my yard and it looks amazing. I'll post a pic on instagram and tag you. :-)

In reply to <a href="https://www.deucecitieshenhouse.com/2013/05/back-door-makeover.html#comment-5523">Anya</a>.

Anya!

Thank You! That is a great idea, I never thought of painting the planter anything but white. I really like the idea of painting it a color, and yellow would look great. I could even trim out the edge around the top or something.

This will require photoshopping for sure.

I'm glad spring is here too :)

Hey Allison, I've had good luck wire brushing concrete to get all the loose paint chips off and then painting it with the outdoor concrete floor paint you used on the steps. You could even go a little nuts and paint it yellow and white striped and fill it in with bold annuals, Purple Cordelyne for height, bright green trailing sweet potato vine, Purple Vinca, Red Geraniums, Hot Pink Wave petunias etc. It would really pop against the new house colors. I'm so glad Spring has finally arrived in the midwest, now if we could just keep it from raining one weekend I might be able to get out and enjoy it too!
