Yes this definitely exceeded my expectations! Though I love, but am distracted by, how much the chorus to "Hey Darling" sounds like Lita Ford's "Kiss Me Deadly". Perhaps it's an intentional homage? I actually had mixed feelings about The Woods at the time but did a couple SK marathons in advance of the new one and really love it now. I think both my real life and my listening habits have evolved to a place where I relate to it more. Really regret sleeping on tickets for Chicago!

Do you buy records? If so, the deluxe version of this record is the prettiest record I've bought in probably ever. The design is spot on and the gatefold layout is amazing. There are cool treasures to find all over that record. I've never seen them before but we have tickets to seem them in two weeks. I can't wait! That's so cool that you can spy those girls, sometimes I get to spy Dave Perner from Soul Asylum. Not as cool though.

Yes! I hope you do it. We are going on February 14th, I can't wait! I've never seen them live, I regret not seeing them when they toured for 'The woods'.

Oh man, I love Sleater-Kinney. I was listening to the new album on repeat when it was streaming on npr.org, but thanks for reminding me that I should buy it. I saw them live back in like, 2000, and it's still one of my top five shows. When we first moved back to Portland a couple of years ago, I spotted Janet Weiss at my local Whole Foods, and tried not to stare. I literally accidentally bumped into her at the checkout line, though. Also, when my husband interviewed Corin Tucker for a project I was super tempted to go along just to meet her, but I resisted the urge. He said she was super nice, though.

Thanks for sharing! You've inspired me to check out their upcoming tour dates and rally a group of ladies to go see SK live. It's been 20 (!) years...Cheers!
