In reply to Allison. I am sad too, it was on the top of my list of things I wanted to do there. We did get good at asking the price of cabs before we got in, I should've mentioned that. It seems like if you ask before agreeing to the ride, chances are the price will be lower. The cheapest cab fare we had was given to us by a women, sad. Someday it will be time to visit again, for now I think I've had my fill of Mexico.

In reply to the cape on the corner. Thanks! I try and take nice pics, it makes me happy when you guys notice. Yeah, maybe the fact that we were in the home was part of the problem, but I did notice the water tanks on the roofs of many of the houses, businesses, hotels and restaurants. Better to be safe then sorry I suppose, at least that will me my MO from now own.

Oh man, you guys got a shifty taxi guy?? Lamez. My family and I went to Tulum in 2007 (those ruins were so awesome, so sad you didnt get to see them! But mostly sad because you were sick!) and this thing happened to us (my mom, sister and I) where we got into a cab, asked how much the fare was and when we were quoted wayy too high (because we did our research!), we said no, got out, and tried another cab. This happened like, 3 times! Those guys sure do know how to scam on the ladies, but we were NAHT having it. Finally got a good (read: fair) quote and headed out!

You guys look like you had a way awesome time though. Maybe it’s time I try it again!

In reply to the cape on the corner. Eh, you spend 40+ years eating lighter and more tropical faire, and the heavy stuff just doesn't sit right. It's not *gross* just blech, if that makes any sense at all. Fun to eat on vacation, but not as my way of life. I've only been here 2 years and I'm still adjusting to how different everything is.

gorgeous pics, we were in riviera nayarit last october and loved mexico. we stayed at a resort where you could drink the water, i’m thinking because you stayed in more of a home there’s wasn’t a filtration system. riv nayarit was about 20 mins from puerto vallarta, but way less touristy. also, it was totally off season, so agian, not touristy. we’ll be in cabo (could it BE more touristy!) in the early fall, b/c i wanted something a bit more happening.

also, i’m sad at the above commenter for bumming on philly…i don’t think she’s found the right food yet. philly is a fricking mecca of awesome restaurants and food trucks. heavy and blech? no way.

Um, what exactly is a “booby” hotel (“chi-chis” are boobies)? Strip joint?
Also, I miss tropical-style food SO F’N MUCH! All the food in Philly is heavy and blech. Thank Crom I’m headed back to Tejas in March, I will eat myself sick and enjoy every moment of it.
