I love winter organization projects, they really help beat those gloomy January days. We had the same issue with deep, dark closets where stuff just disappeared, and motion-sensor lights made a huge difference. The dedicated guest shelf is a great idea, we always end up with random stuff left behind too. For custom bins or labels, you can check out how to contact etsy if you need help with an order. Small touches like that make the whole space feel way more put together.

Hey Stacey, this is great to know. Thanks for the hot tip! I did already go ahead and use the algot system just because it's so much less expensive, but if I would've known, I would have explored the Closet Maid option. I agree, algot is much less flexible, but the price point is good. I'll see if I can do the CM hack for either or both of the next two closets that I have to tackle before the spring. Thanks again!

Many years ago I was a professional closet designer. Yes, that’s a thing.
What you may not know is that the Closet Maid system is fully interchangeable with Elfa’s - you can save SERIOUS cash by using the base pieces of the CM system, especially in the pre-boxed sets, and then pick and choose any of the specialty Elfa components. Using this method I turned $1200 Elfa designs into $100 out of pocket closets in my house.
There are things I like about IKEA’s system, but I feel like it’s the least flexible of them all.
