Matching the cedar decking to the sauna and adding two steps at the front also makes the whole setup feel like one planned object. I especially liked the note about using SketchUp to solve the stair runners and build an accurate shopping list. The clear framing geometry would make this a satisfying image-to-3D reference as well.

Thanks, Sheree! Yes, I’ll need to include some landscape lighting for sure! I was even thinking of getting some step illuminators so no one trips on there way to and from the sauna. I’m so excited for your hot tub! That’s something we’d like to do someday as well. It sounds like your hot tub distributor has the same issue that the sauna folks in canada do, everyone wants one! Hopefully it will arrive soon!

I can’t wait to see it all put together! I bet it is just magical at night with some solar lights. I’ll be waiting to hear more about the hot tub- we sprung for one during quarantine for our Mpls backyard. We’ve had fun landscaping as well- but after 6 weeks we’re still waiting for it to be delivered! Everyone is getting hot tubs apparently and they are overwhelmed with orders!
