Deuce Cities Henhouse

Yes Yes Yes, I finally finished!
Yay Me! I finally finished these socks!!! Wooohooo. I started the beauties back in November, got off track with other holiday knitting projects and finally I finished them last night. I do love these socks — they look amazing. They are actually too cool. I might have to wear some sort of skirt or something horrible in order to show them off. I am noticing that I somehow made the toes a little differently. I guess I should’ve taken notes while I was making my first sock, but I don’t think I anticipated it taking me almost 4 months to finish.

I used a pattern from the book “Knitting Vintage Socks” by Nancy Bush. If anyone out there is interested in making socks or already makes socks but wants some cool patterns to use, please pick up this book. It is awesome. Right now I never want to knit another sock again, BUT I can not resist wanting to knit up all the patterns in this book.

So here are the details:
Pattern: Child’s First Sock (In Shell Pattern) from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush
Yarn: Koigu Premium Merino in Mustard
Needles: Size 1

I'm having some serious sock envy right now…oh, and knitting ability envy. Well done!

    Erika-
You don't need to “knitting ability envy.” I saw those beautiful handmade mittens you found at the thrift store, you're a good shopper.

So, I have to ask you, are you especially protective of socks that you have knitted, by hand, for hours and hours? I would make people wear like special see-through socks over the socks that I made for fear of them ruining them. I might not be cut out for the pain of watching someone scuff around the house wearing something I have knitted… on their feet! They are the most beautiful socks I have ever seen tho… and I've seen alot of socks.
