My August Garden

My August Garden

Hey Guys! I decided to try something different this month, instead of sharing with the usual monthly garden update photo style, I instead am sharing with you this cool vid I made of the yard. It’s as much for you as it is for me, because I know next spring I am going to be dying for a little garden inspiration.

It’s so sad that the season is coming to an end, this morning the temperature was hovering around 47º when I got up for my morning walk. I imagine it won’t be long before I have to say goodbye to my garden, cut it back, and hunker down for another (hopefully shorter) winter. I’m sad to say goodbye but looking forward to the fall, which might be my favorite season of the year.

I’m really happy with the way the garden grew in this year, it finally feels like a real garden, and I am proud to have people over to hang in the backyard and share in all its awesomeness. Thank you all for indulging me and letting me share these posts of my garden throughout the summer, I love to see the progress over time and I hope that it might give some of you a little inspiration too.

I love seeing your garden! It’s very motivating for me since my excuse has been that my kids are too little for me to get much gardening done. So seeing what you get done with 2 little boys pretty much invalidates my excuse-making.
I also love the ideas for what grows well in MN, since I’m a transplant to the Twin Cities. Plus the pics are gorgeous!

Hey Dawn! Thanks so much, that was so sweet of you to say. My neighbors make fun of me because I’m outside in the garden so much, really, I think it’s kind of how I get a little non-kid time in during my day. I always schedule weeding during nap time, it feels good to get out of the house. We all need to figure out how to get that “me” time in somehow. Let me know if you have any questions about plants you’re considering for your yard, I’m no expert, but I’ve had experience with a lot of plants in my yard.
